I've convinced myself that I was born in the wrong era. I don't know what it is about the 90s and the 80s that they just speak to me so loudly. Yes, I do understand that now we have more comfortable lives and things may be easier, but I love how things were during those days, when people connected more with each other and weren't so worried about things that we cannot control.

Life was simple during those years. You had to worry about getting good grades in school, having the most iconic outfit possible, and the biggest hair in the class… and that was it. The best part? When you liked someone and had to call to his house, and beg that none of his parents were the ones answering the phone. I can feel those butterflies and that rush in my stomach just thinking about it… Everything was more poetic and romantic, and so much more in the present.

Internet and technology are great and have given us a big opportunity to be in touch with the family that we have across the world, and to even be aware of things that are happening in other countries. Knowledge has become more accessible, and now we're able to learn and read about things in an instant… but it also has its downside. Today, we're more focused on our phones than the people we have next to us. What's the next trend? What's the thing we need to buy tomorrow to be cool? Those questions didn't exist before…

Although we can't travel back in time and live back in the 90s, we can still find a way to live with that peace, and that's being more connected to the present. Forgetting about the things that are way out of our control and focusing on our family and friends is the way to go. Maybe these memes are going to be helpful when remembering how life was before, and they can become the anchor you need to focus on the things that matter the most to you.
